IMPORTANT NOTES: Length in drop down selection is the length of the center pipe bar. Example: If you purchase the 12" option, after attaching base and cap, you will have about 11-11.5" space for shelf depending on tight you screw on the cap. If you are using nominal dimensional wood shelves (nominal size = what the lumber is referred to vs actual size) these pipe brackets will work great. If you have shelves with the exact dimension of 8", the front of the shelf will rest on the cap.
